We started contenta because the way local businesses and creators work together was broken. Vague DMs. Unclear rights. Reach valued over craft. We wanted to build something better — a structured, trust-based marketplace where great content gets made, fairly rewarded, and properly licensed.
What we'll be writing about
This blog will be a working notebook for the journey. Expect a mix of:
- Briefs that worked — case studies from real businesses and creators
- Behind the build — product updates, design decisions, what we're shipping
- Guidance for creators — practical, jargon-free help on contracts, rights, tax, drone licensing, and the rest
- Guidance for businesses — how to write briefs that get great applications, how to value content, how to think about usage rights
- The Norfolk story — we're starting in our home county, and we'll share what we learn building a marketplace from the ground up
Why local matters
Great content shouldn't only be for national brands working with famous influencers. At a local level there are amazing businesses with stories worth telling, and talented creators ready to tell them. We make the connection.
In-kind by design
contenta runs on in-kind rewards: businesses trade the stuff they sell — meals, stays, treatments, products — for the content they need. It works because the value is real on both sides, and it removes the awkward "what's your day rate?" conversation from the equation.
